Carl Terrell Mitchell was born on 27 November 27 1973, in Chicago, Illinois USA, and is recognized under the stage name Twista or Tung Twista, who is a well known hip hop singer and rapper. Twista is perhaps best known as the rapper who holds the record for pronouncing 598 syllables in 55 seconds, which is included in the Guinness World Records. Twista has been active in the entertainment industry since 1991, and is also known as a record producer.

In 1991 he signed a contract with the Zoo label, and a year later his debut album entitled “Runnin’ Off at da Mouth” (1992) was released. Up to the present date, Twista has released 12 singles, nine studio albums, nine featured albums and EPs. His first two albums were not very successful, as they failed to reach the music charts. The third album entitled “Adrenalin Rush” (1997) reached 13th position on the R&B chart and received gold certification for sales in theUSA. The fourth album “Kamikaze” (2004) was the most successful of all the albums released up to date, and topped both the main chart and the R&B chart in the USA as well as being certified platinum. The following album “The Day After” (2005) also topped the two charts, R&B and Rap, however, according to the sales it received only gold certification in the USA. The last album released by the rapper was entitled “Dark Horse” (2014), which peaked in fifth position of Rap chart in the USA. Regardless of relative success, all Twista’s releases have contributed to his net worth.
Twista has also collaborated with such artists and bands as Too Short, Busta Rhymes, CeeLo Green, Faith Evans, Tech N9ne, Kanye West, Speedknot Mobstaz, The Legendary Traxter and others, plus Twista has starred alongside Ne-Yo, Big Boi, Ron Artest, The-Dream among many.
Twista has also voiced a street racer in the video game “L.A. Rush”. The documentary film based on the life of Twista entitled “Mr. Immortality: The Life and Times of Twista” directed by Vlad Yudin was released in 2011. In addition, Twista has launched his personal website where fans are able to write messages for him, to listen to his music or check tour dates.
